When asked, “What do the Boy Scouts do?” most people will respond “Go camping.” Some will respond they help people. Here in Alaska we are in the business of helping the people of our community.
It can be as obvious as service projects for the community and its people, or it can be a little less obvious in the day-to-day activities centered on helping area youth develop into engaged, responsible and contributing members of the community.
I live in your neighborhood and here are some reasons why I am involved.
I am a single parent and I need wholesome activities for my child and myself to participate in.
- I live in a village and want to be a Cub Scout.
- I want to be a Boy Scout and go to summer camp.
- I want to have fun with my friends.
- I want to stay out of trouble and not join a gang by my house.
